Community Housing Ltd is committed to a fair and accountable Housing Application and Allocation process. The following step by step process describes the Housing Application process to provide you with an understanding of the allocation procedure.
• When applications are received, they are then sent to the appropriate Community Housing Ltd regional office as per the areas requested by you. For more information on the regional offices please visit the Contact us section of this website.
• The information that you provide, including your areas of preference are then placed on to the Community Housing Ltd. Waiting List data base. You can update your details, areas of preferences anytime by contacting the regional office which is holding your application. If you are not sure please contact CHL Head Office 03 98560050.
• If there is information missing from the application, a letter will be sent to you outlining missing information required to successfully process your application.
• A letter is sent out every 6 months to all applicants on the database reviewing whether you still would like to be on the waiting list.
• Applicants who do not respond within 28 days will have their application changed to inactive and a hard copy of the application archived.
• Should these people contact again in the future their application can be reactivated.
• When a vacancy becomes available, a review of the Community Housing Waiting List will be conducted for all eligible applications. Properties are matched with applicant’s needs and preferences.
• A Tenancy worker will then organise to Interview suitable applicants.
• A letter of offer is sent to the successful applicant thereafter.
• A letter is sent to the other unsuccessful interviewees informing that they have been unsuccessful for the current vacancy and they will continue to remain on the waiting list until another vacancy becomes available.
• If you feel your application has not been handled satisfactorily or if you disagree with any decisions that are made about your application, you may request a review of the process. Please refer to our Complaints Brochure for any further information.
