KATHRYN BILLINGTON

Kathryn Billington has big plans for the future. She is hoping to go to university to study for a double degree in Arts/Nursing next year. But first Kathryn needs good marks in her Year 12 studies this year.

To get good marks she has to study. To be able to study Kathryn needs a warm, safe place to live and enough healthy food and a space to study in. The basics other young people her age take for granted.

Kathryn doesn’t take life for granted, having left home at just 16 due to a family breakdown. Kathryn has learnt to fend for herself with the help of Community Housing Limited and her support agency, Anchor Community Care.

Kathryn has been living in a Community Housing Ltd home for the past two years. She is a very independent, community minded young woman who is serious about making something of her life. Having a safe and affordable place to live allows her to have time to study, buy and prepare healthy food and generally take care of her home and herself.

“Before living in a Community Housing Ltd home I was struggling at school. I am doing so much better now.”
