Amber and Pandora have been tenants of Community Housing Limited for the past year.
Amber is the main carer for her daughter, Pandora who has spent two years in the Children’s hospital due to cardiac and respiratory failure because of a breakdown in her immune system. Pandora requires 24 hour care because she may stop breathing at any time.
Amber and Pandora’s father separated and Amber found herself without the ability to work and no permanent home. In the two years prior to moving into a CHL property Amber and Pandora had to move eight times. At times their accommodation was nothing more than a family member’s lounge room.
One year later, Amber has turned her Community Housing Limited property into a beautiful home. Pandora has begun attending 3 year old kinder and for the first time Amber can turn her thoughts toward planning for the future.
